Tim O’Reagan

After spending nearly ten years because the drummer using the seminal Minneapolis alt-country combo the Jayhawks, Tim O’Reagan stepped out from behind the kit release a a self-titled solo album in 2006, a breezy and sonically diverse set that demonstrated O’Reagan was nearly as good at singing, songwriting, and playing guitar as he was at keeping time. Tim O’Reagan got his begin in music in Kansas Town, where after many years of keeping down the tempo in R&B cover rings he shaped the Leatherwoods along with his friend Todd Newman. Boasting a catchy but easygoing pop audio using a little bit of twang across the sides, the Leatherwoods shifted to Minneapolis searching for a far more sympathetic viewers, and soon have scored a cope with Twin/Shade Information, who released their record Topeka Oratorio in 1992. As the Leatherwoods didn’t gain the viewers they deserved, O’Reagan’s abilities impressed Joe Henry more than enough that he was asked to become listed on the observed songwriter’s road music group and performed on two of his albums, Fireman’s Wedding ceremony and Trampoline. In 1996, O’Reagan became a member of the Jayhawks following the departure of drummer Don Heffington, with time to go in to the studio together for the recording Sound of Lays. By enough time the Jayhawks documented Rainy Day time Music in 2003, O’Reagan was adding to the music group like a songwriter, guitarist, and support vocalist in addition to drumming, so when the group opted to have a sabbatical in 2005, O’Reagan started focus on a single album.
