Tim Burns

A former dance music group leader, Burns found prominence in UK pop with perhaps one of the most famous and powerful music business agencies from the 50s and 60s. His main pop client through the rock and roll ‘n’ roll period was Cliff Richard and within a decade Burns was managing a number of the main pop performers of your day, from Dusty Springfield towards the Moving Stones. Probably the most long lasting image of Melts away is captured within the film Don’t Appear Back which he is able to be observed haggling with Bob Dylan’s supervisor Albert Grossman in what today serves as a remarkable insight in to the backrooms of middle-60s pop.
