Established in 1999 to reissue a set of albums of founding Velvet Underground drummer (and famous drone specialist in his personal correct) Angus MacLise, Barnes’ Quakebasket imprint became an wall plug for himself and additional drummers, including several tasks with Kotche (who came back the favour by getting Barnes along for Wilco’s 2004 Ghost EXISTS classes). Throughout his profession, Barnes maintained day time jobs as industrial sound developer and a suggester of music for advertisements. Due to his participation, avant-garde and indie works were combined with advertisements, including Apples in Stereo system, the ocean and Wedding cake, German experimenters Faust, and free of charge jazz drummer and educator Milford Graves.
