An accomplished author of both sacred and secular music, Massaino was also a writer and arranger of lute music. The styles where he made up included people, motets, madrigals, psalms, vespers, magnificats, and canzonas for the lute. He traveled from Cremona, the town of his delivery after providing as the grasp from the chapel at Salo Cathedral. He also resided and offered at Innsbruck, Salzburg, Prague, Lodi and Piacenza. Massaino received honors from both Zacconi and Arisius.
