Thyrfing

Swedish black metallic band Thyrfing was founded in 1995 by guitarist Patrik Lindgren, bassist Kimmy Sjölund, keyboardist Peter Löf and drummer Jocke Kristensson; sketching profound motivation from Norse mythology, the group shortly documented its first demonstration, Solen Svartnar, adding vocalist Thomas Väänänen ahead of cutting another, Hednaland. Signing towards the Dutch label Hammerheart, Thyrfing released their self-titled debut LP in early 1998; upon conclusion of the follow-up, 1999’s Valdr Galga, second guitarist Henke Svegsjö was put into the lineup. A season later Urkraft premiered, their first public U.S. discharge to hit shops at exactly the same time because the Swedish discharge. In 2002, a U.S. music group known as Thyrfing released a loss of life metal single, however the undaunted Swedes retaliated using the crushing Vansinnesvisor that fall.
