Thy Grief Eternal

Thy Grief Eternal was an exceptionally short-lived British loss of life/doom music group whose strikingly morbid name should, by all legal rights, have already been forgotten way back when, were it not really for the group’s eventual change in to the notorious “heaviest music group in the universe,” Electric powered Wizard, a couple of years later on. Founded in 1991 by vocalist and guitarist Jus Oborn, from your ashes of a youthful music group called Lord of Putrefaction, Thy Grief Eternal was curved out by second guitarist Gavin Gillingham, bassist Dave Pedge, and drummer Wayne Evans. And after starting for Cathedral at London’s Marquee Golf club, the quartet was used beneath the wing of their frontman Lee Dorrian, who financed the documenting of three songs designed for inclusion on his Dark Passages doom compilation. But this by no means came to complete, and while awaiting the chance to record extra materials for an eventual recording launch, Thy Grief Eternal underwent a substantial stylistic change and alter of workers, which prompted a name shortening to merely Eternal in 1993.
