Barry Graham, aka Thunderstick, began drumming for Iron Maiden in 1977; a calendar year afterwards he became a member of Samson where he spent another 3 years as the brand new Wave Of United kingdom Heavy Steel’s most questionable figure – the person in the rapist’s cover up. The picture was indeed unpleasant and did small to raise either his or Samson’s profession, but he was still a robust drummer in the Keith Moon mould. Apart from showing up on Samson’s three albums, Survivors, AT ONCE and Shock Methods, he also made an appearance over the Gillan established, For Gillan Supporters Just. After Samson he teamed up with Gillan guitarist Bernie Torme in the Electric powered Gypsies, where he continued to be until developing Thunderstick the music group in 1982. Implementing a far more theatrical face mask and clothing, he come up with this Screaming Lord Sutch / Alice Cooper -designed clothing with Neil Hay (bass), Ben K. Reeve (acoustic guitar), Colin Center (acoustic guitar) and Vinnie Monroe (vocals). In November 1983 they released a 12-in . EP entitled FEEL JUST LIKE Rock ‘N’ Move, having a line-up featuring American singer Jodee Valentine and guitarists Wango Wiggins and Cris Martin updating Center, Monroe and Hay (the second option signing up for Julia Fordham’s support band), even though Reeve switched to bass. Many press interest appeared to revolve around Valentine who performed the ‘pin up’ part. The music was as a result largely forgotten so when their recording arrived in 1984, there is even more concern about the pending relationship between Valentine and Graham. The music group hacked aside for another 2 yrs before divorce (that was also what occurred towards the newlyweds). Graham later on rejoined Paul Samson on two even more tasks but today he’s more associated with music management.
