After rising to fame using the rollicking but rootsy band Alabama Shakes, lead singer and guitarist Brittany Howard was wanting to cut loose with some looser and leaner rock and roll & roll, and that is precisely what she did with her side project, Thunderbitch. Along with Howard, the group features users from the Nashville-based rock and roll bands Take flight Golden Eagle and Crystal clear Plastic Masks, although band’s official site recognizes the lineup just as “Thunderbitch, Matt Guy, B Bone tissue, ThunderMitch, Char Guy and A GUY.” Thunderbitch started playing low-profile concert events in 2012 at little clubs and sizzling wings shops in Nashville, Tennessee, and received their 1st nationwide press in Dec of that 12 months, not for his or her music but also for becoming robbed at gunpoint by two teens while relaxing within the porch of the friend’s home in Nashville. (Among the victims mentioned that the youngsters only got several bucks in money and some mobile phones for their problems, which the musicians weren’t too rattled to visit bar hopping later on.) In 2013, Howard published two Thunderbitch songs online, but small was heard in the group in the future, presumably because of Alabama Shakes’ busy timetable. However, slightly a lot more than four a few months after Alabama Shakes’ second record, Sound & Color, debuted at number 1 in the product sales graphs, the self-titled debut record from Thunderbitch made an appearance, streaming on the web and using a vinyl fabric edition available in the Alabama Shakes internet site.
