Three City Four

Shaped in 1965, the the 3 Town Four was some sort of super-group in folk conditions, what with Martin Carthy (guitar) and Leon Rosselson (vocals, guitar) within their line-up; the additional two members had been Marian MacKenzie (vocals) and Ralph Trainer (acoustic guitar). Conceived mainly because a car for performing modern songs written inside a folk vein, by Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, Cyril Tawney et al, their unique songs were supplied by Rosselson, as well as the group’s looks and recordings tended toward the politics, including participation in the first ’60s anti-nuclear motion. They were authorized to British Decca in the elevation of the united kingdom folk growth, and later documented for English CBS.
