Thomas Function

Huntsville, AL-based music group the Thomas Function play sloppy, joyful, organ-laden garage area rock offering Joshua Macero’s sometimes whiney but often charismatic vocals. The music group progressed from Macero’s four-track bedroom tapes, around which he constructed the music group in 2001, including Zach Jeffries (who supplies the all-important Farfisa defeat) and drummer Phillip Dougherty. Travis Thompson — a vintage cohort of Macero’s off their times in punk music group the Panic Control keys, was added on bass, as well as the Thomas Function started gigging around Huntsville and finally the united states. The band’s 2008 debut, Special event, on Alive Information (a Bomp! imprint), bolstered by some traditional 7″ singles and important appearances at celebrations like SXSW, garnered enthusiastic crucial response, and attracted the same listeners who have been clamoring for the easy, unschooled three-chordisms of Jay Reatard and King Khan. In addition they toured overseas to get their recording and fulfilled with wildly enthusiastic Western audiences. In nov 2009 the music group released the solid follow-up In the Valley of Sickness on Body fat Possum and toured the united states.
