Thom Rotella

A technically experienced guitarist, Thom Rotella is usually capable of taking part in both industrial jazz and in a method influenced by Wes Montgomery. When he was six he began playing for the fun of it on his grandfather’s acoustic guitar and he started serious acoustic guitar lessons when he was ten. As an adolescent, Rotella played rock and roll but soon found out jazz through Wes Montgomery’s recordings. He visited Ithaca University (like a traditional guitar main), with Berklee he frequently analyzed under Gary Burton (1970-1972). Rotella remaining Berklee to tour having a lounge music group, moved to LA and, with Tommy Tedesco’s assistance, he became a studio room musician. However over time he skipped playing live music and in 1984 Rotella relocated to NY where he continuing employed in the studios but additionally had the opportunity to appear in night clubs. In 1987 he documented his first single recording for DMP. The three albums that Rotella cut for DMP (1987-1990) all offered well in the industry market. Ultimately the guitarist became therefore mixed up in jingle business that he relocated back again to L.A. A 1996 Xmas recording for Telarc resulted in Thom Rotella getting agreed upon to the label and documenting 1997’s Can’t Prevent. A five-year amount of silence proclaimed enough time between albums, however in 2002 Rotella came back using the light and airy PER DAY in the life span.
