Alongside Eggstone as well as the Wannadies, This Ideal Day produced a name for itself within the best echelon from the past due-’90s Swedish alternative guitar-pop scene. The quintet originally contains high school close friends Mats Eriksson (vocals), Ove Markstrom (electric guitar), Richard Johansson (electric guitar), Peter Fahlgren (bass), and Ralph Tjarnlund (drums), all through the northern Swedish city of Skelleftea. This Ideal Day began launching singles as soon as 1987 and agreed upon to the indie label Cleaning soap in 1991 carrying out a celebration performance. The music group released its debut record, Rubber Spirit, in 1992. Through the recording of the 1993 self-titled work, which proved extremely effective in Asia, Tjarnlund still left the music group and was changed by Johan Nilsson; the record was reissued in the us in 1995 by Orchard Street, the same season that Don’t Smile premiered in Sweden. This Ideal Day’s fourth record, the brand new wave-ish C-60, premiered in 1998.
