Using a collective love of Ben Folds as well as the Beatles, the indie pop foursome THAT IS Me Smiling surfaced in the western suburbs of Chicago in 2005 release a their sweetly melodic self-titled debut through local indie The Vinyl Summer. Vocalist/guitarist Dan Duszynski, keyboardist/vocalist Sheldon Miller, bassist Matt Schuessler, and drummer Adam Kaltenhauser got the term out playing displays with hometown peers the Hush Audio, Bayside, as well as the Academy Is certainly…, and even were able to rating a tune (“Mixin’ Up Adjectives”) in the 2005 Epitaph compilation Punk-O-Rama, Vol. 10.
