Western jazz trio Third Reel features tenor saxophonist/clarinetist Nicolas Masson, guitarist Roberto Pianca, and drummer Emanuele Maniscalco. Shaped around 2010, Third Reel makes forward-thinking and exploratory jazz that details upon avant-garde improvisation, ambient rock and roll, and post-bop. Third Reel released their debut self-titled recording on ECM in 2013.
