Thinking Plague

The band of Colorado experimentalists referred to as Thinking Plague venture in adventurous, challenging, and sometimes knotty musical directions similar in lots of ways towards the multi-genre explorations of Euro Rock and roll in Opposition bands, although Plague members may sometimes be inclined to reject the RIO comparison. Led by guitarist and composer Mike Johnson (the only real bandmember that has been present on all of the group’s produces), Considering Plague were originally formed in the first ’80s by Johnson and bassist/drummer Bob Drake; after launching an album entitled A Considering Plague independently Endemic Information, the duo added vocalist Suzanne Lewis and released Moonsongs in 1987 for the United kingdom label Deceased Man’s Curve. Vital compliment was glowing, and Considering Plague constantly added associates — reed participant Tag Harris, keyboardist Shane Hotle — and documented ON THIS Lifestyle for ReR in 1989. Though Lewis and Drake afterwards left the region for other tasks, drummer Dave Kerman (of 5uu’s), vocalist Deborah Perry, and bassist/multi-instrumentalist Dave Willey of Hamster Theater joined up with for In Extremis, released with the Cuneiform label in 1998. (And Johnson and Harris came back the favour by signing up for Willey’s Hamster Theater group.) THE FIRST Plague Years, a remastered compilation from the group’s initial two albums, A Thinking Plague and Moonsongs, implemented two years afterwards. Dave Kerman eventually left the music group, and was changed by drummer David Shamrock; the brand new Considering Plague lineup released the Cuneiform Compact disc A BRIEF HISTORY of Madness in 2003. Drop and Fall implemented in 2012, offering brand-new vocalist Elaine di Falco and drummer/keyboardist Kimara Sajn. The group came back in 2017 with an increase of knotty and hyper-complex avant-prog on Expecting Against Hope, offering brand-new drummer Robin Chestnut (who performed on one tabs on Decrease and Fall) as well as the addition of another guitarist, Expenses Pohl, although music group founder/guitarist/composer Mike Johnson continued to be firmly within the creative driver’s chair.
