Having a manifesto proclaiming “Taste = reserve = dread = stagnation = Boredom,” London’s whimsical collective They ORIGINATED FROM the Stars I Saw Them mixes sweet British pop leanings with heroic doses of experimental rock and roll. The group shaped in 1999 and includes a revolving cast of heroes, including Alexi Celebrity, Horton Jupiter, Naomi Celebrity, Mars Reacher, Giles Celebrity, Daniel Celebrity, and Keith Celebrity; sometimes their ranks quantity as much as 20 people. Because the music group name suggests, They ORIGINATED FROM the Celebrities I Noticed Them’s surreal, Canterbury prog-inspired audio was influenced by an alleged alien visitation, a style set forth on the 2001 debut 10″ for Lo Recordings, They ORIGINATED FROM the Celebrities I Noticed Them / Ale from the Gods.
