These New Puritans

Hailing from the city of Southend, Britain, the four-piece These New Puritans enjoy Fall- and PiL-inspired music that also assumes components of electronica and dance. Made up of vocalist Jack port Barnett (who also has your guitar and notebook), his twin sibling and drummer George, keyboardist Sophie Sleigh-Johnson, and bassist (and guy behind the sampler) Thomas Hein, the music group shaped in 2006, when all of the members had been still within their teenagers. Their edgy visual and particular live present (Jack port, for example, generally performed putting on a shirt completely buttoned to his throat) shortly brought the group interest from the United kingdom press, more than enough that soon-to-be-former Christian Dior developer Hedi Slimane asked Barnett to compose something for his fall 2007 collection for Dior Homme, a bit, “Navigate, Navigate,” which was after that debuted in Paris in Feb at the style show. In Oct of this same 12 months, These New Puritans released an EP, Right now Pluvial, on Angular Information. Their 1st U.S. launch. “Navigate, Navigate,” arrived in the us in Feb 2008, a 12″ that acted like a primer for his or her debut full-length, Defeat Pyramid, which surfaced the next month. The follow-up recording Hidden, that was co-produced by Graham Sutton of Bark Psychosis, premiered in early 2010. Going through some transformations, like the departure of Sophie Sleigh-Johnson, the music group returned with the untraditional but well received Field of Reeds in 2013.
