Theron Hale & Daughters

b. 1883, Pikeville, Tennessee, USA, d. 29 January 1954, Nashville, Tennessee, USA. The fiddle-playing Hale and his two daughters, Mamie Ruth (mandolin, fiddle) and Elizabeth (piano), had been among the early functions within the Grand Ole Opry. Hale bought a dairy products plantation near Nashville around enough time of Globe War I, but also for a while he produced his living like a sewing machine salesman (he later on went a piano store in Nashville). The trio performed on theOpry from 1926 before early 30s, becoming especially remembered for his or her twin fiddle renderings of such figures as ‘Pay attention TOWARDS THE Mocking Parrot’ (Theron cleverly created bird whistles along with his finger focus on the strings), ‘Crimson Wing’ and ‘Over The Waves’. In Oct 1928, once the Victor Organization made a decision to record a number of the early Opry functions, the Hales became among the 1st rings to record in Nashville. They documented six edges, including ‘Pay attention TOWARDS THE Mocking Parrot’, however they were not content with the recordings. They performed exclusively on WSM programs rather than toured. In the first 30s, Mamie Ruth, a fantastic musician, still left Nashville to obtain married and afterwards became a violin instructor at Vanderbilt School. Theron (who was simply also a reliable banjoist) and Elizabeth ongoing for a short while with other music artists acquiring Mamie Ruth’s place, however the act shortly folded and Theron quit playing on WSM.
