Thee 50’s High Teens

Thee 50’s High Teens certainly are a nearly amazing proposition: an all-girl Japanese vampire-themed garage area rock-band. The group was set up in 1998 in Fukuoka, the capitol of the idiosyncratic music picture referred to as “Mentai Rock and roll”; the mastermind behind Thee 50’s Great Teenagers was the bassist/vocalist Tomo, a 16-year-old senior high school dropout. They didn’t strike the studio room for another year or two, only releasing a set of live albums in 2006; in 2006-2008, the lineup underwent even more shifts, with Tomo and Sue ultimately teaming up with the keyboardist Yocci and guitarist Nami. In 2008, the revamped music group toured the U.S. using the Captains, and their second Japanese recording premiered stateside on Tokyo No Information combined with the EP ENOUGH TIME Was Then IS CURRENTLY. In ’09 2009, girls came back to Germany, and this year 2010, they documented the EP End & Rond.
