Theatre of Hate

Gothic post-punks Theatre of Hate shaped in Britain in 1980; led by vocalist/songwriter Kirk Brandon, previously from the Pack, the initial group also comprised guitarist Simon Werner, bassist Jonathan Werner and drummer Jim Walker. Instantly recognized as among the era’s leading live acts, Theater of Hate debuted in 1981 using the concert LP He Who Dares Wins Live on the Warehouse Leeds; immediately after, Brandon dismissed the rest of the group, assembling a fresh line-up composed of guitarist Billy Duffy, bassist Stan Stammers, saxophonist John Lennard and drummer Nigel Preston (who was simply soon after changed by Luke Rendle). Another concert documenting, Live on the Lyceum, implemented in 1982 before Theater of Pain moved into the studio room with manufacturer Mick Jones from the Clash to record their correct debut, Westworld; the record went on to achieve the UK Best 20, also releasing the very best 40 one “Do You genuinely believe in the Westworld?” He Who Dares Wins Reside in Berlin implemented in past due 1982, but by this aspect the group was starting to disintegrate, with Duffy exiting to create the Cult; another studio record, Aria from the Devil, was documented but proceeded to go unreleased. By 1983, Brandon got founded a fresh device, Spear of Future.
