The group, known because of its manic interpretations of Western and Louisiana folk music and a multilingual repertoire (the group performs in British, German, French, Spanish, Yiddish, and Portuguese), created in 2004, quickly obtained a devoted pursuing, and released its 1st recording, 9th Ward Ramblers. The Zydepunks appeared forward to even more successes in 2005, but immediately after liberating their second recording, …As well as the Streets Will Flow with Whiskey, disaster struck when Hurricane Katrina roared ashore. As the bandmembers had been secure and three came back to homes which were still intact, their town was laid to waste materials. In August 2007, they released their third recording, Exile Waltz; a 4th release was planned for 2008.
