From NEW YORK, the CHILDREN were a typical-’60s American garage band, releasing several singles in 1967. The to begin these, “AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF Lovin’,” was a prototypical-sounding work for the genre such as a uncooked Sir Douglas Quintet-meets-the Dave Clark Five (especially in the screeching Farfisa body organ), and was a local hit in a few elements of Southeastern NEW YORK.
