The Woe Betides

Referred to by NME as the “deft puppet experts of indie,” esoteric London-formed art rock-band the Woe Betides had been shaped in 2008 by Grundy le Zimbra and Simon Mastrantone. As periodic cohorts of Jeremy Warmsley, le Zimbra and Mastrantone started showcasing their abilities through their association using the Tracks at night club evening. The club evening, which specific in substitute live music and poetry readings, also hosted gigs by performers of the rising Hoxton anti-folk picture and famous brands Jack port Peñate, Emmy the fantastic, and Jamie T, amongst others. Bonding over shared passions and passions, they started rehearsing and documenting their debut and limited-edition EP, Play Deceased, that was released on Tracks at night in ’09 2009. Co-produced by Ash Gardner in colaboration with the home of Unusual music collective, the EP garnered positive press and radio interest from famous brands ArtRocker, these NME, XFM, and BBC6 Music. In the same season, they were became a member of full-time by drummer Colonel Sexlife, further improving the group’s amazing and intensive experimentation with percussion and audio. Spurred on with the encouraging a reaction to the EP, the Woe Betides embarked upon a grueling tour plan and gradually honed their audio by expanding on the like of lo-fi experimentalism and bombastic pop melodies. They drew upon these electrical and lively live performances to begin with focus on their full-length debut record, Never Rest. Released in nov 2010, the record niftily constructed upon the indisputable abilities of an organization whose members happily use their passions on the sleeves. In addition, it included this year’s 2009 Christmas one “Natwest Tower.”
