The Williamson Brothers

Long-running bluegrass duo the Williamson Brothers are an old-timey nation act featuring siblings Tony and Gary Williamson. Elevated in Piedmont, NEW YORK, Tony and Gary had been born right into a family members with an extended woodworking and musical custom. Influenced by their grandfather Alfred, a mentioned instrument contractor and musician, the siblings started playing music in 1957. They quickly grew adept at traditional bluegrass, and by their teenagers were playing displays and documenting. In 1969, the Williamson Brothers took 1st place in the World’s Tournament Old-Time Fiddlers Convention in Union Grove, NEW YORK. After gaining his degree in the University of NEW YORK in Chapel Hill, Tony embarked on an effective solo profession as an in-demand mandolin participant, accumulating credits with such luminaries as Alison Krauss, Chris Thile, Earl Scruggs, Costs Monroe, Tony Grain, Vassar Clements, David Grisman, Ricky Skaggs, Jerry Douglas, and many more. As the brothers possess carved their specific careers, they continue steadily to perform and record jointly. Occasionally billed as Tony & Gary Williamson and occasionally as the Williamson Brothers, they possess released a small number of albums including My Rocky River House (1999), the gospel-themed WHY DON’T WE CROSS the River (2000), and Bluegrass! (2013), which also highlighted Craig Smith on banjo.
