The Wilderness of Manitoba

Self-described Canadian “chamber folk” quintet the Wilderness of Manitoba shaped this year 2010 across the skills of Stefan Banjevic, Will Whitwham, Melissa Dalton, Scott Bouwmeester, and Sean Lancaric. The group shaped naturally out of late-night classes at Toronto’s Delaware Home, a mixture basement studio room/rehearsal space/living quarters for regional indie rockers Howl, who sponsor acoustic shows within their garage area. Utilizing an arsenal which includes banjo, cello, mandolin, and electric guitar, it’s the Wilderness of Manitoba’s wealthy, organic harmonies that serve as the anchor because of their wickedly pretty north folk songs. Component Fleet Foxes and component Great Lakes Swimmers with handful of Cloud Cult-inspired unpredictability tossed set for great measure, the music group released its full-length debut, When You Still left the Fireplace, on TinyOGRE Information in-may 2011.
