The Whole Shabang!

THE COMPLETE Shabang! certainly are a quintet in the Carrick-on-Suir area in the South Midlands of Ireland. Produced in 1993, they cull their affects from a number of resources like rock and roll & move, Cajun, nation, and traditional Irish music. Their lineup over the 1995 debut Dreamers and Believers contains drummer Mick Rowley; bassist Tom Comerford; accordionist Dominic Hearne; fiddler Fergal Kavanagh; and electric guitar, banjo, and mandolin participant Homosexual Brazel. That same roster would also comprise their pursuing two recordings, Cuttin’ Loose! (1996) and A Mad Hatters Ball (1997). Throughout those three albums, the complete Shabang! borrowed materials from such important performers like Charlie Daniels, Richard Thompson, Truck Morrison, Steeleye Period, Sharon Shannon, and Steve Earle. And regarding Earle, they included one of is own music on each of their three produces. Given their selection of affects, it’s peculiar that band provides opted more to get a schmaltzy lounge or strap sound compared to the respected design of some of their mentors.
