The Vocaleers

The original people of the vocal group from Harlem, NY, USA, were Joe Duncan (business lead), Herman Curtis (first tenor), William Walker (second tenor), Melvin Walton (baritone) and Teddy Williams (bass). Among the pioneering sets of the R&B period, the Vocaleers’ great strike, ‘Can be It A Fantasy?’ (#4 4 R&B, 1953), became an integral part of the repertoires of an array of street-corner organizations in the united states. The group was shaped in 1951 and the next year authorized with Bobby Robinson’s Crimson Robin label. Their 1st launch was the ballad ‘Become Accurate’, which founded the group’s audio of Duncan’s plaintive business lead responded by Curtis’ falsetto, and gained the group regional notices. Williams remaining the unit at the moment and was changed with Lamar Cooper. The Vocaleers produced their last record in 1954, after Herman Curtis was changed with Joe Powell; Curtis became a member of the Solitaires. The Vocaleers, with somewhat different employees, reunited in the past due 50s, but following a few uninteresting information they disbanded once and for all in 1961.
