The Vibrants

Starting out like a support group, the Vibrants had been among Australia’s first soul/R&B teams. Bobby Wayne & the Vibrants released the singles “Jezabel”/”Tossin’,” “Turnin’,” and “I’ve Discovered” through the early ’60s, before vocalist James created the Bobby Wayne Syndicate. The Vibrants also supported Bev Harrell and Johnny O’Keefe, before liberating the solitary “Furry Hip and legs”/”Probably Tomorrow” in-may 1965. In Apr 1966, organist Geoff Skewes created a fresh lineup made up of Rick Kent (drums), John Rupert Perry (vocals), Mike Wade (acoustic guitar), Expenses Pfeifer (bass), and John Hossin (sax). The music group moved using their hometown of Adelaide, South Australia, to Melbourne in July 1966, where Mick Hamilton changed Wade on acoustic guitar. With their make of spirit/R&B, the Vibrants released “I’ve Surely got to Proceed”/”Someone Help Me” in Sept 1966. The band’s live status continued to develop along with a cover from the Four Tops’ “Something About You Baby”/”Risk Area” reached quantity 17 within the Melbourne graphs in Apr 1967. It had been accompanied by “The Notice Song”/”How Sweet IT REALLY IS” in June and “My Prayer”/”DON’T ALLOW Your Left Hands Understand,” which peaked at quantity five in November. Perry remaining in Feb 1968 to create the John Rupert Group, and he was changed by Marc Leon. Immediately after, Barry Rogers changed Expenses Pfeifer on bass as well as the music group released a cover from the Bee Gees’ “Terrible Method to take care of You Baby”/”I Don’t Want No one” in March 1968. In Oct, Leon, Hossin, and Rogers still left to create Graduate; and Skewes, Hamilton, and Kent continuing on with a fresh Vibrants lineup that also included Cent Parsons (vocals) and Bob Flynn (bass). The Vibrants released two additional singles: “I CANNOT Forget about Your Appreciate”/”Searching for Somebody” (1970) and “Provide Me Slightly Even more”/”I’m Gonna Be considered a Man Someday” (1971), prior to the Vibrants split up by the end of the entire year.
