The Tuesdays

A short-lived but enjoyable group, the Tuesdays were Norway’s response to Different Light-era Bangles, balancing indie-style acoustic guitar pop hooks and business gloss. The group created in 1990 as a higher school cover music group called No Restricts within their hometown of Larvik, Norway. The group, including guitarist Hege Solli, keyboardist Kristin Werner, and bassist Might Hole, eventually transformed their name towards the Wednesday Ladies and released their debut recording, IF YOU ARE a Wednesday Woman, in Norway and Japan in 1994. Following a disagreement over musical path, the initial group splintered, using the trio getting new vocalist Laila Samuels and drummer Linda Gustafsson and shortening their name towards the Tuesdays. The brand new music group authorized to Arista world-wide in 1997 and released The Tuesdays in 1998. Despite some small radio hype for the solitary “It’s Your decision,” the recording didn’t sell especially well, and following a follow-up was declined from the label, the group split. Laila Samuels released her 1st solo album in-may 2002.
