The Trouble Dolls

NY City’s Problems Dolls started in 1995, when pals Cheri Leone and Matty Karas recruited guitarist Michael Taylor for a fresh task. While both Leone and Karas had been at that time toiling in “civilian” vocations, that they had spent a lot of the past due ’80s as users of Kudzu. THE DIFFICULTY Dolls started playing and documenting in earnest, nonetheless it was mainly for their personal enjoyment, because the playing happened in a cellar and the documenting was to four-track in the home. Over another couple of years, Taylor departed, drummer Gabe Rhodes became a member of up, and the difficulty Dolls started to play several shows occasionally. One particular gig proved especially productive, when in 2001 an appearance in the East Coastline release of Ladyfest resulted in bassist Pam Weiss jumping the Bionic Finger dispatch to become listed on the S.S. Problems Doll. In 2002 the band’s debut EP, I HAVE NO IDEA Some thing, appeared through its La La La Unlimited imprint. It had been a fizzy, smart combination of trad rock and roll and elemental indie pop led by Leone’s soaring vocals and showcasing an overriding feeling of absurdist laughter. The Sticky LP adopted from Half of a Cow in November 2003.
