The Trio

Not to end up being confused using the German electronic pop music group of the first 80s who had a big UK strike with ‘Da Da Da’, this Trio were an ambitious conference floor between jazz and rock and roll musicians in the first 70s. The group presented Stu Martin (drums), Barre Phillips (b. 27 Oct 1934, SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, California, USA; bass) and John Surman (b. John Douglas Surman, 30 August 1944, Tavistock, Devon, Britain; saxophone). Trio produced their debut in 1970 with an ambitious dual recording for Dawn Information. The follow-up, Conflagration, presented many renowned contributors, including Chick Corea, who was simply an early on supporter of the group.
