The Travellers

Biography

The Travellers were formed in 1952 by Sid Dolgay (mando-cello), Jerry Grey (banjo, singer) and vocalists Jerry Goodis, Oscar Ross and Helen Grey. The folk band’s cover of “This Property Is Your Property” in 1955 granted them popularity in their indigenous Canada. Across Canada using the Tourists was their initial record; over ten albums implemented, including The Tourists Sing Music of THE UNITED STATES (1959), Quilting Bee (1960), Presenting the Vacationers (1961), The Vacationers on Tour (1962), Something to Sing About (1963), We’re on Our Method Once again (1964), The Vacationers Still Journeying (1966), A HUNDRED YEARS of Music (1967), This Property, the Vacationers Centennial Recording (1967), The Vacationers Applaud Canada (1968), The Vacationers Sing for Children (1970) and your final, self-titled recording in 1970. A re-formed lineup documented Merry-Go-Around in 1980; Jerry Grey was became a member of by vocalist Aileen Lawrence, guitarist Ted Roberts, bassist Joe Lawrence and drummer Don Vickery.
