The Traps

This short-lived, heavy-drinking garage rock/trash rock trio existed for more than a year in the first 2000s in Providence, Rhode Island. Composed of a outrageous drummer and two guitarists, the Traps performed only briefly within their region, documenting a six-song CD-R and gigging with garage area bands that emerged through city. When Coachwhips performed among these blistering gigs, the Traps found the interest of potential Thee Oh Views main guy John Dwyer, an associate of Coachwhips at that time. As the Traps faded into obscurity as well as the bandmembers would sign up for other groupings before too much time, Dwyer would revisit their scant few recordings at factors, and in 2014 he collected jointly all known archival recordings and put together a ten-song LP entitled Increase Pow Awesome Wow for discharge on his Castle Encounter Records imprint.
