The Traditionist is in fact Huntington Seaside, CA-based guitarist, singer, and songwriter Joey Barro, formerly of Budge as well as the Antiques, in solo guise. After liberating a set of acoustic EPs as well as the full-length Nicknames and Natives beneath the Antiques name, Barro proceeded to go with a somewhat even more stripped down audio for his following project (that actually started existence as another Antiques recording), made by Tim Bluhm. Implementing the name the Traditionist, Barro released Time of year to Time of year on Better Searching Records in ’09 2009.
