The Thyme

Another act from promoter Jeep Holland’s A² Productions steady — which also gave rise to regional legends the Rationals and SRC — Ann Arbor, Michigan-based pop-rockers the Thyme comprised vocalist Steve Truck Den Berg, guitarist Ralph Cole, bassist Alan Wilmot and drummer Eddy. Shaped across the condition in Kalamazoo, the group was originally dubbed the Hitch-Hikers, and under that name released a set of singles — “Someday Baby” and “You’re the main one” — through the middle-’60s; upon relocating to Ann Arbor circa 1967, they rechristened themselves the Thyme and became the regular house music group at the neighborhood Fifth Dimension membership, also appearing often on the famed Grande Ballroom. In amount the Thyme documented three even more singles, included in this covers from the Zombies’ “Period of the growing season” in addition to Neil Diamond’s “Want to Like,” before disbanding in 1969 when Cole exited to become listed on Lighthouse.
