Biography
Paul Kochanski (vocals, bass) and Jamie Walker (vocals, acoustic guitar) 1st played collectively in the first ’80s for any Boston-based music group named the Travel. Local acclaim along with a first-place end on MTV’s The Cellar Tapes didn’t avoid the music group from splitting up in 1989. The Swinging Steaks had been formed immediately after, when Kochanski and Walker recruited Tim Giovanniello (vocals, acoustic guitar) and Jim Gambino (vocals, piano, body organ); they afterwards found the Del Fuegos’ drummer, Joe Donnelly, when that music group folded. The group pursued a root base rock design, using spirit, honky tonk, gospel, and play addition to straight-ahead rock and roll & move. After an record was released in the band’s very own Thrust label, 1992’s Suicide on the Wishing Well, Capricorn agreed upon the music group and released Southside from the Sky (1993).
