The Sweeplings

The Sweeplings certainly are a folk-pop duo comprising Washington indigenous Cami Bradley and Alabama indigenous Whitney Dean. Dean, a previous touring bandmate of Civil Wars vocalist/songwriter John Paul Light, first noticed Bradley perform being a contestant over the NBC truth competition America’s Got Talent. Struck by her tone of voice, he reached out to her to find out if she’d be thinking about co-writing some music. A 2014 go to to meet up her in Spokane yielded an instantaneous musical chemistry between them and their cross-country relationship was born. A short four-song EP and a small number of singles uncovered a penchant for haunting, sensitive harmonies and a roots-inspired audio that bears commonalities towards the Civil Wars aswell as even more pop-oriented indie folk works. Their debut recording, Rise & Fall, premiered in 2015.
