The Sun Sawed in 1/2

The neo-psychedelic pop clothing sunlight Sawed in 1/2 was formed in St. Louis in 1990 by bassist Ken Rose and his guitarist sibling Tim; filling up their roster with vocalist Doug Bobenhouse, keyboardist Dave Farber, guitarist Jeff Bartholic and drummer Expenses Yaeger, the group debuted using the LP The Joy and Other Brief Stories, issued around the BeeHive label in 1992. Warm Ft for Monkey God adopted a year later on, and when sunlight Sawed in 1/2 resurfaced in 1995 with Brain Turn, Farber, Bartholic and Yaeger experienced all exited, changed by keyboardist John Holt and drummer Steve Bunck. Neither lineup addition was long-lived, nevertheless, and by 1997’s Fizzy Lift, sunlight roster included drummer Matt Martin. The record was documented for the Not really Lame power-pop label, which also released the 2000 follow-up, Bewilderbeest.
