The Subjects

The people of indie rock-band the Topics met inside a Manhattan senior high school while two were teachers (Dave Sheinkopf, Joe Smith) and two were students (Jimmy Carbonetti, Matt Iwanusa). Following the college students graduated, the music group started playing gigs at bowling alleys and coffeehouses, while issuing a self-released EP in springtime 2004. For the very first LP they documented in a cellar in Maryland in summer season 2006, leading to With the Simplicity Grace Accuracy and Cleverness of HUMANS via Pretty Activity Information in Feb 2007.
