The Strange Boys

Brainwashed by many years of contact with an American Bandstand cassette (a circa 1966 display, apparently) within their mother’s car, brothers Ryan and Philip Sambol began bashing away their own undertake English and psychedelic rock and roll while still going to senior high school in Dallas, TX. With Ryan on acoustic guitar and vocals, and Philip on bass, the brothers honed their vintage sound independently before enlisting Matt Hammer on drums and Greg Enlow on acoustic guitar and keys, developing the group right now referred to as the Unusual Males in 2004. The fellas quickly asserted themselves in the fertile Dallas/Austin indie picture and released their debut EP, Says Newest Noise Manufacturers, in 2004. Relocating nearer to the actions in Austin in past due 2006, the Unusual Boys searched for the Gris Gris’ Greg Ashley to guy the board because of their first full-length discharge. In 2007, amid focus on these full-length, the group released the 7″ EP Nothing at all on Milwaukee’s Dusty Medical Information. The Unusual Boys shifted to In debt Records because of their debut record, 2009’s Unusual Children Club. For the next year’s even more expansive Be Daring, the music group enlisted Mika Miko’s Jenna Thornhill and Darker My Love’s Tim Presley as collaborators. For 2011’s Live Music, the band’s most refined album to time, the Unusual Guys recruited Spoon’s Jim Eno as you of its manufacturers.
