The Storys

Even though Storys were from South Wales, the group’s 1960s and 1970s sunny pop sound felt enjoy it was straight from California, with solid songs, bright harmonies, thoughtful arrangements, along with a clear sense of what it had been they wished to do. Blessed with four gifted songwriters and performers, the group created in Swansea, Wales in 2003 and finally resolved on a lineup of Steve Balsamo (acoustic guitar, vocals), Andy Collins (bass, vocals), Rob Thompson (acoustic guitar, vocals), Brian Thomas (drums), Alan Thomas (keyboards, mandolin, banjo), and Rosalie Deighton (acoustic guitar, vocals — changing Dai Smith, who remaining the music group in 2008). The Storys documented their self-titled debut recording in an aged converted film theatre and released it independently Hall Recordings imprint in 2005. The Storys was found by Warner and re-released in 2006. The band’s second recording, the Jon Kelly-produced City Beyond the Trees and shrubs, was monitored at Peter Gabriel’s REAL LIFE Studios and made an appearance from Hall Recordings in 2008 to beneficial evaluations. The Storys announced these were phoning it quits this year 2010, and released a goodbye record, Good luck, that same season.
