The Starlight Mints


Candy-coated mod quintet the Starlight Mints sprouted through the bottom in Norman, Fine — exactly the same residential state because the equally oddball dream pop band Flaming Lips. Starlight Mints — vocalist/guitarist Allan Vest, keyboardist Marian Like Nunez, bassist Javier Gonzales, drummer Andy Nunez, and guitarist Matt Goad — started jamming together within the ’90s being a seven-person music group filled with orchestra, having a baby to their very own funky make of intensely instrumental — believe cello, violin, triangle, and sound files — surrealistically worded pop audio. Vest’s nasally however skillful voice is similar to a combination between Pixie star Frank Black’s tenor and Violent Femmes frontman Gordon Gano’s breaking throat. The band’s initial album, The Wish That Stuff Was MANUFACTURED FROM, premiered in 2000. The record shows numerous influences in the ’60s forward. Constructed on Squares implemented three years afterwards. For 2006’s Drowaton, the Starlight Mints agreed upon with Barsuk. Present schedules with Dios Malos and Octopus Task implemented into June.
