The Starfolk

The adult-oriented indie pop quartet the Starfolk formed in 2008 for Brian Tighe and Allison LaBonne to focus on songs together beyond their chamber pop band the Owls. Tighe have been a member from the Minneapolis power pop music group the Hang up Ups through the entire ’90s, however the few started the Owls in 1999 when LaBonne and Tighe documented some tunes that she wrote, and made a decision to start a music group. After documenting an EP (Our Expectations and Dreams) in 2004 and an recording in 2007 (Daughters and Suns), the music group took a rest where the duo made a decision to begin working on tunes of their personal. After recruiting previous Hang up Ups member Stephen Ittner (who experienced also performed in the Owls) to try out drums and adding cellist Jacqueline Ultan, the group released a break up solitary with LaBonne’s additional task, Typsy Panthre, in ’09 2009. After an extended wait around, the Starfolk’s self-titled debut recording was released from the Sea Blue’s label Korda in past due summer time of 2013.
