The Standard

THE TYPICAL hail from Portland, where they began performing displays in 1999. Vocalist/guitarist Tim Putnam, keyboardist Jay Clarke, bassist Rob Oberdorfer, and drummer Rob Duncan got known one another from playing in a variety of rings — and in a variety of designs — around city, and as the typical they incorporated all that to build up a moody and unstable indie rock and roll sound. A self-titled discharge made an appearance through Barbaric in 2001, accompanied by the Contact & Go discharge August a season later. THE TYPICAL jumped to Yep Roc for the solid 2004 work Wire Post to Wire, and Albatross made an appearance in 2005.
