The Soul Survivors

The Spirit Survivors’ just giant hit, “Expressway to Your Heart,” was among the first notable productions by Philadelphia wizards Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff in 1967. Although these were white, the Spirit Survivors used a convincing R&B audio for his or her early singles on Crimson. Gamble and Huff packed “Expressway to Your Center” with honking horns and additional automotive sound files, however the record’s primary strength place in its soulful vocals and pounding defeat. After a much less effective follow-up, “Explosion within your Spirit,” the music group faded but came back for one even more strike in 1974.
