The Skygreen Leopards

Pastoral folk-pop duo the Skygreen Leopards shaped in 2001 in California. Bandmates Glenn Donaldson (Thuja, Blithe Sons, Ivytree, and co-founder from the Bay region experimental folk label Jewelled Antler), and Donovan Quinn (Verdure) released their initial assortment of improv folk music — a few of which were documented outdoors, with the majority getting laid down on a vintage reel-to-reel — as two partner albums named Existence & Like in Sparrow’s Meadow and I Dreamt She Rode on the Red Gazelle & Additional Dreams. Both discs made an appearance in 2001, as do a handmade vinyl fabric 12″ titled Kid God within the Backyard of Idols. The group released Story from the Green Lamb & the Jerusalem Priestess of Leaves in 2002, accompanied by One Thousand Parrot Wedding ceremony in 2004. Existence & Like in Sparrow’s Meadow as well as the six-song Jehovah Surrender EP found its way to 2005, accompanied by Disciples of California in 2006. The second option album was the first ever to be recorded beyond the Leopards’ personal studio, because the music group decamped to Jason Quever’s studio room in SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA and tracked the majority of Disciples of California during live documenting classes. They reprised their cooperation with Quever many years later on, when Beautiful Johnny designated their 6th full-length album in ’09 2009. The music group died out of the experience for a little bit, Quinn teaming up with Six Organs of Admittance primary guy Ben Chasney in the first 2010s to focus on part task New Bums. Skygreen Leopards would come back in 2014 making use of their considerably poppier recording Family Offences, their 1st for the Woodsist label.
