The Sick Lipstick

Toronto’s Ill Lipstick fuses no wave, punk, and ideas of riot grrrl right into a challenging, confrontational sound. The music group produced in 2001 following the likeminded Dark Kitty #13 disbanded; that band’s vocalist, Lindsay Gillard, and keyboardist, Tag McLean, recruited guitarist Allan Graham and drummer Adrian to flesh out their fresh project’s lineup. The group started documenting and touring early that yr, including gigs using the Swirlies, North of America, and XBXRX; despite some saving hassles that happened that fall, as well as the addition of fresh drummer Dennis Amos, by early 2002 the music group was prepared to record its debut EP. Ill Lipstick arrived that summer within the Audio Disease imprint. Around that point, Ill Lipstick also made an appearance on a break up 7″ with these XBXRX and Quintron. The next year, the music group released a break up solitary with Die Monitr Batss and released its full-length debut, Sting Sting Sting, on Tiger Style Information.
