The Shortcuts were students at Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, OH, when Carlton Information released their sole single “I’ll Cover My Like” with B-side “Don’t Say He’s Eliminated” in 1959. It produced a little sound in a few areas, but under no circumstances broke out. Member Mary Ellen Keegan had written both edges, the other people are unidentified; Carlton never released another single as well as the group disbanded to focus on college.
