The Shilohs

The Shilohs certainly are a Vancouver-based pop music group with a good, folky edge and a means using a melody that harkens back again to the ’60s without suggesting the music group is struggling to sound retro. The Shilohs had been produced in 2008 by Johnny Payne and Mike Komaszczuk, two close friends in the Vancouver indie rock and roll community who had been buying vehicle because of their songs. Both distributed similar affects — including Big Superstar, the Traveling Burrito Brothers, as well as the Beatles — and Payne and Komaszczuk, looking for a tempo section, got touching percussionist Ben Frey and bassist Daniel Colussi, who understood Komaszczuk from casual blues jams. The brand new music group began playing around their hometown and shortly documented a five-song EP, but a number of issues avoided the record from released until 2010. The Shilohs shortly headed back to the studio room, with David Carswell and Tanis Gibbons on the handles, to cut their initial full-length album. However, background repeated itself, and it wasn’t until early 2013 the fact that album, So Crazy, was finally released by Light Body organ Records. (Through the hold off, the label released a stop-gap one, “Personal Lives” b/w “British Roads.”) Thankfully for the Shilohs, Thus Outrageous was welcomed with enthusiastic testimonials, with CBC Radio declaring “Thus Wild whitening strips us of most our inhibitions and reminds us that great music will win out on a regular basis, each time.”
