The Selfs

The Selfs were formed in London by future Yes bassist Chris Squire following the emergence from the Beatles. With keyboardist Andrew Jackman, guitarist John Wheatley, drummer Martyn Adelman, and vocalist Chris Slater, they performed live for some time in London before Squire, Adelman, and Jackman became a member of forces having a few other musicians to create the mod (and later on psychedelic) music group the Syn, which documented several singles that are reputable by ’60s English rock enthusiasts. Two tracks documented onto acetate from the Selfs, the common British Invasion-styled initial “Like You” and a cover from the Who’s “I CANNOT Explain,” had been ultimately released in the Compact disc era.
